It was my birthday and Tom surprised me with a weekend away to Padstow in Cornwall.
As you may know, Padstow is very much synonymous with the chef Rick Stein these days (it's even referred to as "Padstein" by some), and we fully embraced that! We spent two nights in his B&B with breakfast in the café; dinner on Friday night in the Bistro; and dinner on Saturday in the famous Seafood Restaurant. In between, we had cocktails in the cocktail bar. We also managed to venture over to Rock to walk along the coastline and to sample some Doombar ale in its hometown.
A really fabulous weekend - and happy birthday to me!
